DeLonghi EC155 Espresso and Cappuccino Maker
The De’Longhi EC155 Pump Espresso and Cappuccino Maker is one of Amazon’s Best Sellers in Kitchen and Dining.  You can use this machine to make both espresso and cappuccino and even better than that, you can use pods or ground coffee with the patented dual function filter holder.  We feel that being able to use pods is a big plus because of the convenience and the fact that there is no mess to clean up when using a pod.

With this machine, you can enjoy hot beverages at the perfect temperature due to its two separate thermostats.  You can use the easy-to-use swivel jet frother to make that perfect cup of cappuccino or latte every time.  You can’t beat the rich, creamy froth that the frother makes.

The De’Longhi EC155 is easy to disassemble, clean, and reassemble.  It has a removable water tank and drip tray and a durable, high-quality stainless steel boiler that will last for years.  This little machine is a good looking unit with its silver metal accents.  It doesn’t take up a lot of counterspace but most importantly, it makes a great cup of espresso!  It also consistently produces a thick layer of delicious crema and the unit is affordable!

Customer Reviews

Consumers seem to like the size of the De’Longhi EC155.  They say it is doesn’t take up a whole lot of room on the counter and it’s a good looking coffee maker with its silver metal accents.  The water reservoir is easy to fill and is a good size, letting you make about 8 – 10 shots before you have to refill it.  It heats up fast and makes a delicious hot beverage.  The frothing wand works well, easily froths milk, and consistently produces a thick layer of delicious crema.  Probably one of the best features about this machine is that it is ESE certified.  ESE stands for easy serve espresso and means that you can buy ESE pods for your machine and not have to grind and tamp coffee beans.  A lot of expensive machines don’t even have this convenient feature!  Using the ESE pods saves time and you don’t have a mess to clean up afterwards!

Pros & Cons

ProsPros:  As of today, there were 2,501 consumer reviews and 1,167 of them were a 5 star rating.  This means that 47% of the consumers were satisfied with this machine.  This is a very reasonably priced and well-performing espresso machine that uses pods as well as coffee grinds.  It makes a quality espresso of medium-strength, with crema that tastes great.  The machine is of high quality, fits perfectly on a counter top, makes little to no mess, is easy to clean, and is an excellent starter machine.

ConConss:  There are complaints about the attached tamper not doing a very good job.  Our recommendation would be to go buy a metal one.  There are also complaints that the space under the dispenser is too small and you can’t fit a coffee cup under it.  If you want to use a standard size mug, all you have to do is pick up the perforated steel plate that the cup sits on and put your mug into the well below.  If there is liquid in the well, just wipe off your mug when you pick it back up.  Another inconvenience is that there isn’t a cup warmer and others complain that the frothing spout is too close to the counter top.  The frothing spout dilemma can be fixed by buying a shorter, wider pitcher.
