BUNN MC Multi-Use Home Coffee Brewer

The cool thing about the BUNN MCU Multi-Use Home Coffee Brewer is that you aren’t limited to just K-cups or pods.  With this machine, you have the option of using K-cups, any soft pod, ground coffee, teabags or loose tea.  Now, how’s that for convenience?  You can also dispense hot water for a variety of other uses such as oatmeal, instant coffee, soup, or anything else that uses hot water.  You can even use it to warm baby bottles!

This machine comes with 4 interchangeable drawers that gives you the capability of brewing the beverage of your choice.  For example, if you are using a K-cup you would use the cup drawer and if you’re going to brew ground coffee you would use the coffee drawer.

If you like a nice strong cup of brew, then you should seriously check out this coffee maker.  It has a pulse brew feature that stops and starts the flow of water several times while your beverage is brewing and allows the grounds to be in contact with the water for a longer period of time, giving you a stronger cup of brew.  This process is kind of like steeping.  If you like a weak cup of joe, just don’t use the pulse brew feature.

If you liked the My Café Brewer, then you will really like the BUNN MCU.  This unit is an update of the My Café Brewer.  It seems that most of the issues that were found in the older model have been addressed and now you have an even better unit in the BUNN MCU.  This is a great little machine with so many different uses.  We really don’t think you could go wrong if you bought this unit for yourself or as a gift for that special someone!

Customer Reviews

Out of 813 reviews, 517 consumers gave the BUNN MCU a 5 star rating.  This means that 64% of customers were satisfied with this product.  Consumers seemed to like the pulse brew option and said that it makes a richer cup of brew with no hint of bitterness.  Also, the fact that you can make anywhere from a 4 ounce cup of joe to a 14 ounce cup seemed to please many consumers.  A big plus is being able to use K-cups, pods or ginds in this unit as well as the great cup of brew you get from this machine.

Pros & Cons

ProsPros:  The thing that most people seem to like the most is that you can use K-cups, pods, coffee grounds or loose tea in this machine.  The ability to use all of these, makes this a great product!  The unit is a nice size and has a smaller footprint than the Keurig.  It fits nicely on the counter top and doesn’t take up a lot of room.  It makes a delicious hot cup of brew and a lot of consumers say they love this machine.

ConConss: Most consumers say that not having a water reservoir that you can keep filled seems to be the biggest con.  It seems like most agree that it isn’t that big of a deal and that the coffee is probably better because it is being made with fresh water each time.  Another con would be that the unit doesn’t have an automatic on/off .  The unit is always on but automatically sets back after 6 hours of use.  After 26 hours of not being used, it goes to sleep.  When you go to use it after it has been asleep, it automatically wakes up and returns to the normal temperature.  It was also mentioned that the brewer makes a lot of noise when your coffee or tea first starts brewing but nothing that you can’t live with.  The reason it’s making so much noise is because the grounds of coffee or tea are taking a few minutes to absorb water before the machine starts the actual brewing process.  This brewer shouldn’t be used with distilled water or water that has a low mineral content.  For your brewer to work, the water has to have sufficient mineral content.
